Dr Kath York is Port Elizabeth’s premier Dermatologist. Specializing in General Dermatology, Mole Mapping, Dermatologic Surgery and Hair and Scalp issues. Dr York grew up in Port Elizabeth and went on to complete her undergraduate medical degree at the University of Witwatersrand where she graduated with distinction. She then went on to do her Dermatology specialist training at the University of Cape Town. Following the completion of her training she became a fellow of the College of Dermatologists of South Africa and is registered with the Health Practitioners Council of South Africa. She has done a masters degree in skin cancer and has published research in this area. She is also a founding board member of the South African Skin Cancer Foundation. Dr York completed a post graduate fellowship in hair and scalp diseases in Melbourne, Australia. She trained under Prof Rodney Sinclair, a world expert in the field of hair. During this period, she developed expertise in the management of hair and scalp conditions. She finds being a dermatologist to be more of a calling than just a profession and really strives to make a difference in the lives of her patients.
