The company, Lansdowne Auto Electric was established in 1985 by Manny Afonso and his wife, Maria Celia Dos Santos Afonso. Over a span of 35 years they built a strong professional company that is well recognized for their quality of work in the Western Cape region. After 35 years the Afonso’s decided it was time to retire and put the business up for sale. The company was purchased by Riedwaan Amlay and his wife, Quanita Amlay. The Amlay’s took ownership of the business in May 2020. Riedwaan Amlay is a self-made businessman and owns Zora Projects which was established in 2006. The current owners intend to expand the business in the near future. __________________________________________________________________________________________________ Our services include all auto electrical services and repairs as well as mechanical repairs. We do mechanical services and repairs on all makes of vehicles. Diagnostics tests, fault finding and the installation of electrical/electronic systems, components, wiring and/or accessories of motorized vehicles, trucks, heavy plant and equipment. We supply and/or fit lead acid/calcium or deep cycle 12 Volt batteries to motorized vehicles, trucks, heavy plant and equipment. We do repairs on starters, alternators, alarm systems, central door locking, window winding mechanisms, wiper linkages, rewiring of looms and replacement of blades. We do replacements on safety & emergency lights (all lights, indicators, headlights, tails, etc.). We fit radios, speakers & aerials. We do misfire diagnostics & non-starting.
