I am Annalien Turner, a registered dietitian (in Namibia & South Africa) and trading as Smart HEALTH Namibia. I have a Masters' degree in Nutrition (Stellenbosch University) and a BCom Hons degree (Marketing Management) from the University of South Africa (UNISA). My passion is the science of gut health. Evidence suggests that health starts in the gut and that being overweight, all diseases and disorders can be linked to an imbalanced gut. With education comes empowerment so that people & patients can realize that one can achieve better health, through gut health. I have a special interest in obesity as well as digestive health, such as IBS (low FODMAP diet), IBD, food allergies, diabetes, fatty liver, renal failure, sports nutrition & nutrigenomics (gene food interaction).
