Ubuntu Dance and Theatre Arts Organisation is a registered non-profit company based in Mitchells Plain, Cape Town, founded in 2025. Our mission is to empower youth and communities through dance, theatre, puppetry, and creative education. We provide accessible arts programmes that promote healing, social cohesion, mental wellness, and youth leadership. Our work focuses on vulnerable groups, including youth affected by poverty, violence, and trauma. We host community workshops, school performances, festivals, and training sessions on health, safety, and civic engagement. Through our arts-based methods, we address critical social issues such as gender-based violence, xenophobia, substance abuse, and disability inclusion. Ubuntu DTA collaborates with local and national partners to deliver meaningful, community-rooted projects. We support over 2,000 participants annually through a team of facilitators, volunteers, and peer educators.
