Len Bates Driving School is owned by lewellyn Bates, youngest son of Len Bates. Len started the driving school in 1927 and was the first driving school in this country. The driving school has an excellent reputation with the general public and with the test stations. Llewellyn is known for his patience and ability to help the most difficult cases. He carries out the lessons himself so you can be assured of good quality, professional tuition. He does not drag out lessons and will confirm on the first lesson how many lessons will be needed. Once our students pass test you can be assured that they have been taught properly and will have been taught all the skills to be great, courteous and safe drivers. The cars that we use are Opel Astras 1600’s, they have dual controls and power steering and are kept in mint condition. Our parking training grounds simulate all of the Gauteng Test Stations which makes a huge difference for students when they are learning to park.
